I know I said I wouldn’t be posting on the weekends but I just wanted to draw your attention to the 2011 weblog awards. I know my humble little blog with its small number of followers has no hope of winning but it would be nice to be nominated. So if you feel inclined just click on the weblog awards logo above and it will take you to the nomination page. Scroll down and you will find a variety of categories that would be suitable to nominate my blog under. I planned ahead for you and chose the following categories that I thought might suit.
- Best Australian or New Zealand Weblog
- Best Topical Weblog
- Best-Kept Secret Weblog
- Best New Weblog
Well, that’s the least I can do since your blog has literally changed my life. Thanks Colleen!
Hi Cindy,
thanks. If they had a category for wonderful people who step in and guest post when disaster and vacations occur you would get my vote for sure.
Think positive; you have just as good a chance as anyone else. I’m voting for you now – good luck!
Thanks Mrs Green,
as an award winner yourself I will take your word for it.
It seems there is no category for American weblogs, so here I sit frantically trying to come up with a non-American blog for my third nomination (the rules require three) . . .
Hi Jo,
thanks for making the effort to check it out. I thought having to choose 3 added a degree of difficulty that would put me of voting so don’t feel bad if you put it in the too hard basket..
I emailed the Bloggie Award site and found out that you can nominate a US weblog in one of the categories outside of the country category, for example sports or music or science, etc. So, problem solved! I thought some others might want to know this too. Although maybe they already had it figured out ๐
Hi Jo,
that is right. I also was not keen on the idea that for every nomination you have to make three choices. It makes it very hard for my American readers (friends) to nominate my site in the Australia or New Zealand category because they most likely don’t know any other Aussie/Kiwi blogs. Oh well like I said my following is so small that I am unlikely to win any category anyway so no biggy.
I think you just have to nominate three weblogs in total, not three in each category.
Hi Jo,
maybe I should go back and reread the rules.
Nominations complete ๐ Hope you get recognized.
Thanks Jo !!
Hi Jo,
I understood the rules as you did: three nominations, but not in the same category. Hope that’s right! ๐
I voted. I hope you win at least one of the catagories.
I have been playing with all those mini missions you gave us. This is the time of year when I do a major reorg and what I call a sort and toss so your ideas were fun. I won’t list each one but will tell you I have made some major dents in lots of areas. I don’t know if it is the holidays or what but this time of year my mother seems to be more receptive to decluttering. So I took advantage of that in a big way. We still aren’t done either. WooHoo!!!! I’m loving it.
Hi Deb J,
thanks for voting really appreciate it.
I know exactly what you are saying about taking advantage of your mothers cooperation while she is up for it. Make hay while the sun shines I say. Liam has been the same way this week and I took full advantage of that and will keep trying to milk it for all its worth until he starts to jack up on me.
Well I didn’t die from loneliness or lack of inspiration without new postings over the weekend like I feared I might, and I did like having something on your site as a placeholder.
Hi Cindy,
I was a bit afraid you were going to suffer from withdrawal symptoms but you did me proud. I hope you stayed away from the computer most of the weekend. I know I didn’t. ๐ณ
Colleen, I voted for you in the four categories you suggested. Hope you win at least one. You deserve it! I like your mini missions. I’ll have to comment later on and let you know how I’m doing on them. What a great idea.
Thanks Di I appreciate you taking the time to vote.
