Today’s Declutter Item
More papercraft adhesive. The variety I once had of adhesive alone in my craft supply stash amazes even me.
Things that made me happy, made me laugh, made me feel grateful, fascinated me or I thought were just plain awesome.
- I had a full body massage yesterday ~ if that isn’t something to be grateful for I don’t know what is. And it didn’t cost me anything because it was a gift from friends.
- Enjoying having my parents visiting. ~ Laughing with my mum is always a treat.
- My husband received a promotion at work ~ Yay for him, that should help his job satisfaction no end for a while.
- Watching some shows on television that I normally wouldn’t watch when hubby is home.
- Today would have been my grandmother’s 105th birthday were she still alive ~ happy birthday Mamma. Fond wishes and fond memories.
It matters not how fast I go, I hurry faster when I’m slow.

Hey Colleen! Thank you so much for for linking to my post this week! I’ll have a hard time topping the amount I made by selling off my junk last week. 🙂
Kelley says
love the link to decluttering and making money…keep meaning to gather up all my gold jewelry and take it to sell…not that there is much but I never wear it…I feel an extra payment on the student loan on it’s way!
Colleen says
Hi Kelley,
making a little money back sure does assuage the quilt of having wasted money on things in the first place. Mind you it is always wasted money. I have sold things over the last year that we got good use out of but just isn’t useful to us any more. The extra money in those cases feel like a real bonus.

Thanks Jo and the blog is made all the better for people like you who keep reading and commenting.

Colleen, I finally made my post about the March 21 Mini Mission!

I’ve been working hard on this week’s Mini Mission, hopefully I can post about it earlier in the week next week.

Wow, I am flattered! Now you really know you to trick your reader’s into becoming avid commenters – and avid declutterers 🙂 You can be sure I’ll stay tuned. And that I won’t need that long anymore to see the light on things like the unused bread machine as my resolution for this year is to be ready for a move (may it come or not) without taking boxes of things with me I should have decluttered before the moving frenzy set in. (And by not getting up and walk over to the book shelf to look up the declination of “to set” in my dictionary (think 3 pounds of Chambers …) but rather turn to my good friend leo.org I think I have my next decluttering object at hand. Apparently not only reading but commenting here helps. I’m hooked!)
Jo says
Good point, Ideealistin! I’ve noticed that if I take the time to comment, it usually means I’m thinking more deeply about the topic of the day. And thinking about the topic more deeply means I am more likely to remember it AND take action on it.
Colleen says
Hi Ideealistin,
Shhhhhh! Don’t tell everyone about my evil yet cunning plans on how I trick them into coming back. I have them all convinced that I am just a nice person. 😉 I know what you are saying about trying to be ahead of the moving frenzy. I have been moving around all my married life and actually love it but I hate to write my inventory for the removals company when we have to move. Now that I own so much less stuff it should be a lot easier next time.
Nurchamiel says
I like it! I already gave tons of stuff away to the thriftstore, sell my unwanted books and DVD online and got rid of tons of paper! I have my own e-reader now, so I don’t have to print everything.
Colleen says
Thanks Nurchamiel I am glad you are liking my blog and it is helping you with your decluttering. I wish you had taken before and after shots you could share with us.
Mrs Green @myzerowaste.com says
Thanks for the mention of our post – I really appreciate it 🙂 And guess what? I’m now sitting typing to you in my newly organised study! I reckon I’ve got rid of more than 50% of my stuff just from this one room. DH walked in here the other day and said “But you’ve got no books left” Well I have, and these are the ones I’ve read multiple times and will read again, or reference books which have become my bible. Every else has gone, even the ones with loving inscriptions in the front. Go me!
Colleen says
Hi mrs Green,
I am so pleased for you because I know what a nightmare this room was for you. I hope you took some before and after shots to share with us at myzerowaste.com.
