Mini Mission Monday is about finding ten minutes a day to declutter. To make it easy for you, each Monday I set seven declutter missions, one for each day of the week for you to follow. It takes the guess work out of decluttering and makes it easy and “fun” for you to achieve some quick decluttering.
I love to throw in a good old clutter category set of  missions every now an again to get you thinking about what sort of clutter you have. So this week we will declutter something from each of the clutter categories I refer to on a regular basis and one or two less used categories I have referred to in the past. Declutter at least one item per category.
Monday – A Sentimental item. This is self explanatory really it is an item you feel personally attached to or at least once did.
Tuesday – A Guilt item. Something you feel guilty about acquiring in the first place.
Wednesday – An Aspirational item. Something you aspire to getting around to using or trying one day but you know one day is unlikely to come.
Thursday – An Obligation item ~ Something you only keep because you feel you should. Often something someone else gave you.
Friday – A Lazy clutter item ~ No attachment you just haven’t got around to getting rid of it.
Saturday – An Natural Progression item ~ Something that no longer fits, physically or intelectually or has simply been used up or worn out.
Sunday – A Location Inappropriate item ~ That is something the no longer suits your lifestyle since a location change. Perhaps snow gear if you have moved to warmer climes.
Good luck and happy decluttering
Today’s Declutter Item
Will the archive of decluttered craft item photos never end. Even I am getting sick of looking at them. This batch if things were donated to the thrift store.
Eco Tip For The Day
Share and borrow between friends and family rather than everyone owning/buying everything.

I am going to admit to a scrapbooking No No. I had 3 special one of a kind Christmas albums that I had made. I took all my journaling and pictures out of them, threw some of it away and turned what was left into layouts for the 3 years they covered. Then I gave away the Christmas albums. 3 less albums. Did the same thing with an album about our last move only kept everything, just typed it up on the cardstock and made layouts again. I’ve one more album to do like that of my weekend at Creative Escape. I will have one whole section of my Ikea bookshelves free. I’m jazzed about it.

I am about to give the laundry a spring clean, and I think there will be quite a few of those items listed above, in it, which I can remove. Beautiful, sunny spring day here in Newcastle. Cheers

I like the concept of a lazy clutter item, simply something you haven’t gotten around to getting rid of before now. I think I can probably find a few of those.
Would love to make some red stickers in a X and just go around the house and slap them on everything that in my ideal world needs to go. Wouldn’t that be interesting?
Wendy F says
That’s a great idea Moni! Putting stickers on things that need to go!

Hi Moni, I’ve used post-it notes and dated them. Then the next time I look at that object, I can tell how long it’s been since I last used it.

oo, wonderful idea – maybe i’ll go and get some red tape and get on with this right away – or maybe i shouldn’t if i dont want my divorce papers lol. OH isnt much of a hoarder but i still drive him insane with my decluttering – i only asked him what a cable was for today and when he said ebay and i offered to start an ebay pile he nearly went off on one – oops. Mind you, he drives me insane by spreading his stuff over my nicely cleared/ tidied shelves…
Still, i can dream about the red tape project 🙂

Hi all,
I’m purging and packing!! Lots of purging hoping for not a lot of packing!! I have the rest of this week then bye bye!!
I’m sure now that I have pulled everything out there will be many items for each of the above categories.
To date, I have sold, donated, re-cycled and passed on 325 items, from cd’s to clothes, probably have aadvark to zebra to go hahaha. I have thrown out (actually shredded and sent to school 8 bags of papers). I have my scraproom down to half of the amount that was in it and I have a very happy teacher/neighbour who just loves it when I say I am clearing out my craft gear!!
Have fun everyone 🙂 🙂 🙂

Where are you off to Dizzy?
Moni says
Hi Dizzy – wow you’re on a roll!
325 items – that must feel good.
I’m interested to know – are you only taking what you want to keep or culling what you don’t want?
Does that make sense? Which way are you looking at your packing?
